Ceptinia

Ceptinia is a volatile, yet inhabitable planet and the second farthest planet from Solar System Epsilon’s sun

.

Despite being 6.2 billion years old, Ceptinia hasn’t developed much evolved life due to the lethal amount of naturally occurring nitrogen dioxide in the planet’s clouds, which intermittently form much like clouds on Earth.  All known creatures on the planet are small and can either withstand the gas or burrow underground to escape it. Some evidence of larger creatures has been found on the planet’s surface; however no tangible sightings have been made of such creatures.

Ceptinia’s distance from the sun makes it a dark, cold planet, with the days being akin to dusk on Earth and the nights being nearly pitch black. Some structures are built on the surface, however the majority of human presence on Ceptinia resides underground due to the toxic clouds that make the atmosphere unsafe for humans.
