Shroudwood
The village of Shroudwood earned its name from being hidden in a valley of trees as it fits comfortably into a divot in the landscape. Surrounded as it is by hills and woodland, the village is hard to see and harder to reach without a guide. Rumours say that Shroudwood’s denizens have left ways to locate the village in the surrounding forests, however those signs are difficult to locate and decipher, so as to keep out unwanted visitors.

At the bottom of the valley and in the centre of the village is a pond with streams flowing in from the surrounding hills. The village was built around this pond, with fishing shacks built on the pond bed and other buildings constructed outwards up the hills.

Shroudwood’s main trade is in hunting as the surrounding areas are host to rare creatures with high quality pelts and meats. Once the villagers accumulate a decent stockpile of these goods, a few villagers go on trading excursions to bring in more resources for the village. These excursions have made Shroudwood’s pelts famous across the lands for their quality and unique look.

During wartime, however, Shroudwood’s efforts are geared more towards supplying troops, crafting weaponry and armour to be sent into battle. The village’s hidden nature makes it less susceptible to enemy attack and therefore able to carry on production, no matter the status of the war.
