12 and 12A are films that people 12 and over can watch, except that children under 12 can watch a 12A film should the parent deem it appropriate, although it is recommended that very young children shouldn't watch 12As. Moderate language (e.g. "bitch" and "twat" can be used) and strong language can be used infrequently. Discrimination, if used, must be condemned, and sex can be shown briefly and discreetly with appropriate context. There can be long fight scenes, however easily accessible weapons cannot be glamorised, and no emphasis should be put on injuries on blood (despite there being occasional gory moments given proper context). Drug misuse should be infrequent and not glamorised, and dangerous or anti-social behaviour cannot be dwelled upon.
