I'm quite impressed with the finished product that we made, especially in the time span that we made it. We incorporated the 3 techniques (shot-reverse shot, match-on-action, 180-degree rule) into it well by editing it slightly so it is as continuous as possible, and also cut out any speech or sound off camera. Moreover, I think that the extra sound effects that we added post-production made it more professional and better.
On the other hand, we could have spent more time focusing on the costumes and settings. The setting we used wasn't the best as it had educational things and other student's work on the walls behind us which doesn't fit in with what the setting's supposed to be whatsoever. Also, if we had more time, we could have polished it by perhaps finding a better source for sound effects or perhaps finding costumes that better suited the themes.
The finished product differs from our original idea in terms of the opening. Originally, we were intending for the main character to be seen smoking a cigarette at the beginning, however we eventually decided against that idea because we wouldn't have been able to edit that in to the video, and we couldn't get the correct prop in time, so we ended up using the easier option of just having the main character leaning against the wall. Furthermore, we originally wanted to have pitch black lighting, with only the characters being cast in light, but, obviously, that didn't happen because we couldn't find a room that would have been dark enough for our idea.
Overall, I am pleased with what we eventually made for the preliminary task, as it is well made and shows off the 3 techniques also. The only improvements would have been polish since it is mostly things that the audience won't primarily focus their attention on, and the changes from the original storyboard made it much easier to shoot and meant that we could get the task done much quicker.
