Rough Cut Feedback
Video Response
Questionnaire

We started out with these questions to gauge the sort of people who were answering the questionnaire, as well as give people a couple of easy questions to start of with. This shows that we got answers from a range of ages and mostly females.

This question allowed us to get an idea of if we were in the right track in our chosen genre, and hadn't gone wildly in the direction of other genres. Thankfully, most people thought it fit with the indie genre - which we had chosen - therefore we could continue and not have to make any drastic changes.

This question showed us which parts of the video adhered most to the genre, giving us a good idea at what we were doing well at. For the most part, people thought that the narrative was the part that fit the best with the genre due to it having a serious tone and fitting with the overall sombre mood of the song.

During the construction of our product, there were some concerns regarding the narrative and how easy it was to follow, and this question was included to address that. It came as a relief when most people responded by describing the plot in the way we intended it to be conveyed, and there was little confusion in the storyline of the video.

We intended to make use of filters to depict changing moods throughout the video, and asked this to see how effective such a technique was with the audience. Given the responses, it is clear that the filters achieved their intended effect on the audience of creating visual clues for the tone of the video at that point. With this information, we know we need only refine the filters instead of changing them for the final cut.

We wanted to ensure that the final cut was to the highest quality we could achieve visually, and so asked this to make sure that we were on track to achieve this, hoping that the audience was happy with how the video quality was. Due to the mostly positive response, we are confident that the quality of the music video is to a good standard.

Here, we further tried to find out how well we had fit in with the conventions of the genre, this time looking at the more broad criteria of camerawork and editing. Much like before, the feedback shows that the video fits within the conventions of our chosen genre, meaning that we are well on track to making a conventional indie music video.

We wanted to know exactly what things we could improve between the rough and final cuts, hence why we asked this question. While most people are happy with the video as is, some wanted the relationship and how it deteriorates throughout the video to be conveyed more clearly, which we will make so for the final cut.

These questions  showed what parts people liked and disliked, to give us an idea of what should be kept, removed or altered. Given the replies, there weren't any glaring issues that we have to change for the final cut, however most issues that people had were to do with the editing and camera aspect of the video.
