Treatment
The treatment for our video has to be split up into 3 main components: narrative, performance, and technical. The narrative and performance will be split into mise-en-scene, settings, costume and props. The technical treatment details what equipment we will be using for the video.
Narrative
Props (Tom)

One of the props we plan to use for the narrative are various food and drink items that can be shared between two people (e.g. milkshake, ice cream) to provide a strong romantic link between the characters, and signify a fond event or memory. When using such items, they would probably also be doing other romantic things such as looking into each other's eyes, or holding hands.

With the idea of mental illness, I thought a book could be used by the main character with the mental illness, perhaps to suggest their more introverted and recluded nature, preferring to be alone from time to time.

We decided to go down the route of mental illness. As such, we need medical items such as pills and medicine, which is used by the main character to show that they're affected by such illness.

Setting (Abbie)

This could be a setting for one of the happy flashbacks, as seafronts and promenades are often associated with happiness and good times, which will help set up this representation with the characters

Much like the seafront, this would present a happy/joyful atmosphere, however a woodland is more secluded and private, which will allow for long shots and two-shots of the characters alone

We plan to use a hospital-like setting for one of the less-fond flashback, highlighting the main character's mental illness, and perhaps also start to highlight the cracks in the characters' relationship.

Costume (Danielle)

This type of jean will be worn by the female character as it makes her look unique (hence why the male is attracted to her) and also makes her vulnerable

Much like the mom jeans, these are used to convey the individuality and uniqueness of the character

Performance
Props (Tom)

This will be used in the performance aspect, either by a separate guitarist, or the lead singer. This shows that the person using it is musically talented as they know how to play one, as well as passionate since they have their own guitar

This microphone will be used by the lead singer, to give the impression that the band is performing, as it suggests that it is plugged into some speakers, therefore meaning that the lead singer wants to be heard.

The band will be seated whilst they play the instruments, to convey them as casual and relaxed, therefore making them relatable to the audience.

Setting (Abbie)

We want the performance aspect of our setting to be minimalistic, as such we will only use a raised platform (much like the one pictured) to convey a low-budget, casual atmosphere. The raised platform will likely be in either a clear room, or in darkness with only the band members lit up.

Costume (Danielle)

These will be worn by the band members to follow the minimalistic and casual tone established by the setting

While this is also casual and minimalistic, it is also modern and fashionable, making the band members more relatable, yet conventional to the indie genre. The lead singer will differ from the other band members to be more noticable

(Click Image to see all 3 cameras) These are the cameras we're using. From left to right: the Canon Legria HFR306 Camcorder, the Canon 600D and the Canon 700D. We plan to use the 700D as our main camera, since it produces the highest quality out of all the cameras. The other cameras will likely be used as back-up cameras.

These are the lights we plan to use. From top left to bottom right: a Source 4 spot, a Fresnel, a Par56 LED, and a Par56 halogen. These will be used to provide better and more professional-looking lighting to make the scenes look more appealing. They will do this as the colours on them can be changed to whatever colour we want
