Rough Cuts
This page showcases each of our Rough Cuts that we made before having a definitive final cut. At this stage there are mostly just minor tweaks between each video that were made to make the video better overall. The changes made for each video are put beneath the video.
Rough Cut 1
The first rough cut is quite different to the original plan we had laid out in the storyboarding process, mainly because when constructing the music video, we found that some scenes fit better in different places or sometimes the timings were wrong so we had some gaps we had to fill. This was the product we ended up with, however we had some teething issues that we had to sort out, for example we had to sort out some of the colours in later scenes and some shots had to be altered or replaced to make the video more narratively cohesive.
Rough Cut 2
For the second rough cut, we have switched some shots out and tweaked others. For example, at 2:21 in the video the first rough cut has the drums being played however that has been cut to create more space for the ensuing scene to allow it to make more sense and overall look better. Moreover, the final shot on the first rough cut was of the main character putting the pen down after writing the letter, however we have changed that to a shot of her hand slipping down from the edge of the bath which concludes the narrative at a place that makes more sense, rather than showing the end and then going back to a previous point in the video.
Rough Cut 3
Not much changed between the second and third rough cut, as only a few very minor things were changed at this point. One of these things was flipping some of the shots so that the two characters are the same way around throughout most of the two-shots.
